Wine 1 of our Wine Label Design theme comes from Italy. Mionetto Prosecco D.O.C. Trevisio, an extra dry, sparkling white wine.
About the Design: from our designers
The teardrop shaped bottle caught our eye. This design does blend with the traditional paper labels that we’ve come to expect, but instead of using paper, Mionetto relies on placing the brand name directly on the bottle, with minimal graphic detail. The Mionetto designers went as far as embossing the bottle itself with the brands monogram letters. We appreciate it’s clean and modern design that stands out by paying attention to detail, while not trying too hard. It is the minimalism of the Mionetto bottle that will make this bottle standout on shelves.
About the Wine
On colour, Mionetto’s Prosecco holds a golden wheat hue that is filled with a good showing of dancing bubbles at the time of the initial pour. On the nose, a creamy, sweet pineapple scent fills you with moderate intensity. On the palate, a well tempered acidity coupled with tastes of apricot, and black currant that lingers at the back of your tongue, with that lingering creamy sensation in the mouth, stands with a medium to long finish.
A more than decent prosecco, ideal for drinking on its own or pairing with soft cheeses and shelled seafoods. I served it with d’Affinos cheese, a French double-cream soft cheese that when paired with the Mionetto Prosecco, heightened the flavours of the wine, immensely.
