We’ve more than expressed our love of Pinot Noirs here on this site, and given that, I was excited to get a chance to try Eau Vivre’s 2008 Pinot Noir, a new vintage addition to the LCBO here in Ontario that is made 100% from organic Pinot Noir grapes.
Eau Vivre Vineyard is located in BC and comes with a rich family centric story that makes experiencing this wine a deeper venture as there is something to be said about small batch production.
On colour, the Eau Vivre Pinot Noir 2008 is a light garnet red hue, and on the nose, scents of cranberry, spice and oak are present. On the palate, you’ll find that it holds the expected elements of a Pinot Noir plus. Your palate will pick up some smokiness, anise, raspberry and a medium to long finish.
This is a complex wine that will continue to give and open up to new mouth experiences the more it breaths. It may do you well give this wine 30 minutes to breath, if drinking it now, before it is served.
This wine retails at the LCBO for 24.95.
We gave this wine a 3 out of 5
