This Snap Dragon Red Blend 2009 is a blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, and Petite Sirah and as interesting as the blend sounds, so too is the little winery legend that graces the back side of each of their wine bottles.
Legend has it… long ago, a farmer befriended a dragon using the creature to guard his crops….Upon the dragon’s demise, the farmer planted a vine over its majestic body, which in time grew into a vineyard…
On colour, Snap Dragon Red Blend 2009 holds a deep ruby red hue. On the nose, scents of oak, plum, blueberry and some spice are present. On the palate, smooth tannins mixed with tastes of tobacco, cranberry, raspberry and anise are recognized.
Once served, between 15 to 17 celsius, this stands to be an excellent everyday sipper and a fantastic pairing with my Monday night pizza.
