Prior to even getting my greedy little hands on a bottle of Tawse Winery’s Sketches Riesling 2010, I had heard a ton of glorious things about it, and it turns out that all of the praise was more than fitting. Though Rieslings do not fall on my high priority wines list, I found myself wanting a full glass the Sketches Riesling, after my taster amount. This is a robust and boisterous Niagara Riesling that I cannot wait to enjoy on a patio.
On colour, Sketches Riesling 2010 from Tawse Winery holds a clear pale straw hue with hints of green. On the nose, scents of lemon, apricot, some minerality, and spice are present; a truly interesting and complex experience. On the palate, citrus notes continue as both lemon and clementines are noted, along with pear and well tempered acidity.
