Looking for an easy drinking Italian red wine? Then look no further than Valpolicella, a popular wine district found in northern Italy. Given its light air, wine-makers often take liberty in their Valpolicella wine production, making each a unique and explorable experience. Considering our on again (spring-like) off again (it feels like a cold fall day) weather we’ve been having, I felt there was no better wine to delight in on a day like today, than Monte Zovo Sa’ Solin Ripasso Valpolicella 2013.
On colour, the Monte Zovo Sa’ Solin Ripasso Valpolicella 2013 holds a deep ruby red hue. Nosing this wine, however, is where you’ll gain the most delight. On the nose, the Monte Zovo Sa’ Solin Ripasso Valpolicella holds a truly aromatic persona. You’ll pick up scents of lavender, deep floral bouquets and a bevvy of red berries. On the palate, you’ll sense the ever tangy presence of this wine, coupled with bell pepper, mineral and cherry.
This wine retails at the LCBO for $16.95.
