There is no mistaking the great quality of wines coming out of Ontario’s Prince Edward County.  The area houses notable wineries such as Norm Hardie, Huff Estates, and Closson Chase just to name a few.  So, any opportunity to partake in wine from this region is always a real treat for me.

Keint-He Winery is nestled in the central Prince Edward County wine region, and their wines are made in a reminiscent European style, or so they note.

Ever aware of the Burgundian vineyards we are trying to emulate, all of our vineyards were selected based on soil type, topography and sun exposure.

Keint-He produces some impressive Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines, cultivated from their four Ontario based vineyards.

Under the guidance of their New Zealand born winemaker, Ross Wise, Keint-He Winery is a definite one to watch.

On colour, the Keint-He Queenston Road Pinot Noir 2012 holds a delicate ruby red hue.   On the nose, scents of spice, cherry, and vanilla are present. On the palate, a blend of red berries, light mineral, herb and neutral tannins are at play.

While this particular Keint-He wine is not sold in the LCBO, the winery does have various titles carried there. The Queenston Road Pinot Noir 2012 can be ordered directly from the winery for $30 per bottle.

We gave this wine a 3.5 out of 5.
