Clearly, I chose to cover this wine given that it was a long weekend. I just could not help myself. Moreover, it was a white wine and considering the sweltering heat I knew we were in for, I wanted something I could chill and drink cold. While I have never heard of the Long Weekend Wine Co. before now (it is a Fielding Estate spin-off) it’s festive title urged me to give it a try.
On colour, the Long Weekend Wine Co. Chardonnay – Pinot Grigio holds an almost blanched hue, as far as wine goes. On the nose, spice, lemon, lime and melon are noted. On the palate, aged pear, green apple, minerality and well-tempered acidity are noticed.
Long Weekend Wine Co. Chardonnay – Pinot Grigio is quite affordable and easy drinking. It is the ideal wine if you’re entertaining people who are not traditional or hardcore wine drinkers. This wine is extremely palatable for many.
